I am not very far behind

Journal Entry: Mon Dec 14, 2009, 6:09 AM
Wait for me
You're onto something
Maybe there's no need
To play catchup, to play catchup
Wait for me
You're onto something
Maybe there's no need
To play catchup, to play catchup

You're casually
Casually walking through life without a worry
I'm worried its effects will show
So now I'm gathering
Gathering the pebbles I need to drink from the well
So thirsty, so thirsty

Wait for me
Well, I am not very far behind
So wait for me
I'm still chasing you
Wait for me
Well, I am not very far behind
So wait for me
While I play catchup

But thankfully
Thankfully, I haven't been taken very seriously
Seriously anxious to run the course without stumbling
Stumbling over fences, now I'm falling
Falling down the hillside, it's way too steep
It's way too steep

Wait for me
Well, I am not very far behind
So wait for me
I'm still chasing you
Wait for me
Well, I am not very far behind
So wait for me
I'm still chasing you

I happened to take a chance
Now there's no turning back
Return to childhood dreams, there rested figurines
I've been through life fast
Riding over broken glass
There is no question now
That I will catch up, will catch up

Inside, outside, amazing

Journal Entry: Wed Oct 14, 2009, 6:53 AM
Pinback - Sender

Shoes crack where you walk
Settle down
Inside, outside, amazing
Cut it back
Get in some clean fresh air

Acute angles, divide my
Path that I had lost
Path that I had lost

Tongue tied, couldn't talk
Settle down
Inside, outsides amazing
Haven't lost
Haven't cared at all

Acute angles, divide my
Path that I had lost
Path that I had lost

And when you see a boat come
In a straight line
You know it's going straight down
And then you feel like a flower sender
Lender, like you

I close my eyes
Nothing to see here

Cloud tank, given off
Watered down
Stick side outside, the razing.
Wasn't cool
Wasn't fair at all

Acute angles, divide my
Path that I had lost
Path that I had lost

I close my eyes
Nothing to see here

And when you see the big crack in the sunlight
You know it's over somehow
And then a pinhole sky explodes out
Ball of fire
Supernova falls down on you

I close my eyes
Nothing to see here

(Ball of fire
Supernova falls down on you)

Life's nominations and celebrations (update)

Journal Entry: Mon Sep 28, 2009, 9:06 AM
Good afternoon, friends! There are only two more days left to get your votes in for this month's DeviantAwards! Please take a few moments to vote for your favorite artist in each category. Read below for more information. =)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I received a lovely note the other day from *TheDeviantAwards. saying that I've been nominated for a "Best Poet" award; I'm not sure which of my readers nominated me, but I thank you greatly from the very inner-reaches of my heart (and all the back out again). =) It truly means a lot to me! My poetry is a reflection of my past, present, and future, and it contains many traces of my soul that I've shared with people, that I haven't been able to share with people, and also that I wish to share with people in time. Every one of my poems is cherished just like the rest, and I am happy to have such a lovely community to share my words with.

Voting for the awards starts today, and if you'd like to take part, feel free to head over to *TheDeviantAwards so to view the nominees for all the awards (there's more than just poetry), and then send a note to *TheDeviantAwards - telling them who you'd like to vote for in regards to the category of your choosing. Fun stuff!

I am amongst an array of very talented writers, including some of which I've looked up to over the past couple years or so, so it's a very exciting experience for me. I would certainly appreciate the support, so if you'd like to vote for me, I would love you all the more for it! =D Please take a look at the other writers' works too though, since I believe we all deserve a fair chance, especially since all of our writing is worthy of merit; such emotion and devotion in this world is not easy to find, so please take your time to read, feel, and live through our works' worlds, and then vote for who you think deserves to win the award.

In other news, I've been continuing with the creation of my audio versions for my poems; these are recordings of my poetry for those who are visually impaired, and/or for those of you who enjoy hearing my words instead of simply reading them. I don't have audio versions for all of my newest writings, but they are in development and will be added to my gallery soon; keep checking back to my latest journal entries for a list of the most recent audio versions.

With that, my friends, I bid you adieu. =)

Keep on keepin' on,
Daniel

Sunset smiles & 6000 pageviews

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 8, 2009, 5:04 AM
I'm very close to hitting 6000 pageviews! Typically I don't pay too much attention to such a thing, but I do think of such a high number as a sign of progress, and I think it shows that over the years my writing has been attracting more and more interested readers, and I like that idea. I'd be happy with just myself reading my poetry, but it makes me feel extra-special to have other individuals read my life's words; and having the ability to touch people's emotions with my writing means a lot to me.

So, here's the thing... If someone can capture my 6000th pageview (screen captures work best!), I'll send them a surprise! The easiest way to do this is to load up my profile page and hit CTRL+PrtSc (control key plus print screen) on your keyboard, and then hit CTRL+V (control plus V, which is just an easy way of "pasting") in any image editing program (such as Paint) or even just about any word processing program; and then you can upload the image to an online photo album such as Photobucket, Imageshack, or what have you; and finally, send me a comment or note with the link. It may sound like a lot of work, but it's easy stuff - believe me! =) I'll make it worth your while.

With that, my friends, I bid you adieu. =)

Keep on keepin' on,
Daniel

And then there was silence...

Journal Entry: Wed Aug 19, 2009, 10:57 AM
I realize I haven't been submitting as many deviations as last year, but fear not - I am still quite the avid poet, and it's just that my time has been focused towards strengthening my artistic abilities, and putting more effort into creating quality pieces (as opposed to a greater quantity). I promise you, my readers, that spectacular things are in store for my gallery, and you will clearly see that a poet's heart never truly dies - it just quiets itself from time to time, and then the passion flare ignites once more from beyond the stars, and words fall back to Earth like romantic rain.

Also, I've been continuing with the creation of my audio versions for my poems; these are recordings of my poetry for those who are visually impaired, and/or for those of you who enjoy hearing my words instead of simply reading them. I don't have audio versions for all of my newest writings, but they are in development and will be added to my gallery soon; keep checking back to my latest journal entries for a list of the most recent audio versions.

With that, my friends, I bid you adieu. =)

Keep on keepin' on,
Daniel
